In a beam time from 8.-12.3.2013 the very first so called refractive Taille-lenses were tested in an X-ray microscope setup. Taille-lenses have apertures
varying along the optical axis. The name of these lenses bases on the German word "Taille", English "waist", because the lenses are more slim in their centre than at their ends. This first experiment showed the functionality of the Taille-lenses and gave us experience in using this type of lenses. Compared to conventional refractive X-ray lenses the intensity in the image was more homogeneous over the field of view of 80 µm x 80 µm.
