At 1.10.2011 the Virtual Institute New X-ray analytical Methods in Material science (VI-NXMM) was founded. It will concentrate the competences of eight institutions, active in X-ray imaging. An intensive cooperation will result in

an essential benefit in the development of X-ray optical instruments and methods for application in material science. The VI-NXMM is financed by the Helmholtz-association.
